Friends of the Maasai

As followers of Friends of the Maasai may know we have a 10 years agreement with two villages in Kajiado (Kenya) to support them to become self sufficient and futureproof in an eco friendly way in 2033. We've already posted good news from the community of Tikoishi before.
In the community of Orpirikata, a training was organised to learn how to harvest honey from the bee hives that were placed recently with the support of Friends of the Maasai. The honey will be used to sell on the local market so the community earns extra income to finance new activities that can improve the living conditions and sustainability in this very dry area in South Kenya. The project is organised by our partner and local Community Based Organisation Olmeguarra headed by Purity Ntanin Meikan.
